You are in Paris, want kosher food and do not feel like polling three WhatsApp groups. Good news: we counted. As of 5 October 2026, to our knowledge, the Keila catalogue publishes 290 places in Paris and Île-de-France across all diets. For kosher food, 108 have documented evidence (106 Beth Din de Paris certifications, 2 establishment declarations), including 76 in Paris. Another 119 are mentioned in kosher directories, awaiting confirmation. The current list of those 108 by place is at kosher restaurants with evidence. Here is the map by arrondissement, with the evidence level behind each number.
The map in numbers
The table separates places with evidence (documented certification or the restaurant’s declaration) from places mentioned only by a kosher directory and awaiting confirmation. Each place is counted once, at its strongest evidence level.

The 7th and 15th have no catalogue places yet. The 1st, 5th, 14th and 18th do, but none is mentioned as kosher: we have only vegan or vegetarian places there.
Why the 17th and 19th dominate
The 17th and 19th contain 34 of Paris’s 76 documented kosher places, almost half, and 78 of 148 when directory mentions are included. We could write a sociological paragraph. We will not, because we lack the figures for it. We can explain where the map comes from: the catalogue starts with public kosher directories, then cross-checks the official Beth Din de Paris directory. Those sources simply list more places in the 17th and 19th than elsewhere.
The rest is visible in the streets. In the 19th, rue Manin has seven places mentioned as kosher. In the 17th, avenue de Villiers has as many, six named by Beth Din. The catalogue record is not even inside Paris: rue de Paris in Charenton-le-Pont has eight. To your aunt, that is obvious. For a map, it is data.
Articles by arrondissement
For the most represented arrondissements, we wrote neighbourhood guides organised by evidence level and then type (meat, dairy, unspecified). These guides are dated. The current list by place, excluding directory-only mentions, is at kosher restaurant pages by arrondissement and town.
- Eating kosher in the 17th: 23 places certified by Beth Din de Paris, 24 to confirm. Paris’s widest choice.
- Eating kosher in the 19th: 11 documented certifications, seven places on rue Manin. The most concentrated.
- Eating kosher in the 16th: 11 documented certifications, and no catalogue address in the 16th without a kosher connection.
- Eating kosher in the 11th: 9 places with evidence, mainly boulevard Voltaire, rising from zero to eight documented certifications.
- Eating kosher in the 12th: 4 certifications and one declaration, around avenue Daumesnil.
- Eating kosher in the 8th: 5 certified places, including Kavod Bassari and Kavod Halavi, a vocabulary lesson in two addresses.
- The Marais: 4 certified places on rue des Rosiers and rue du Roi de Sicile, and many misleading appearances.
- Eating kosher in the 9th: 3 certified places, including Douieb, a textbook case of solid evidence, and one special case.
The rest of Paris: 22 places
The 12th, around avenue Daumesnil
Seven places mentioned as kosher in the 12th. Four are named by the Beth Din de Paris directory: KOÏS, Tikoun Olam and Wang’s for meat, La Stella for dairy. Guefen, rue de Charenton, declares itself kosher on its website. Nonna Rita and Buvette Fondation de Rothschild have been spotted in directories and await confirmation. Documented listings in the 12th are on their current page, and the neighbourhood has its guide.

The 4th, around rue des Rosiers
Four places, four documented certifications. Chlew Rosiers, L’as du Fallafel and Ernest on rue des Rosiers, Alfi on rue du Roi de Sicile: all named at their addresses in the Beth Din de Paris directory as meat restaurants. At the end of September, only Chlew Rosiers had documentation in Keila, awaiting review. The current list is on the Paris 4th kosher restaurants page, and the distinction between kosher evidence and misleading appearances on rue des Rosiers is in our Marais guide.

Around Paris: 79 places
New in the 5 October update: the catalogue crosses the ring road. 79 places outside Paris, from Levallois to Sarcelles, all mentioned as kosher, including 32 named by the Beth Din de Paris directory. The best represented: Levallois-Perret (20 places, 11 documented certifications), Charenton-le-Pont (10), Saint-Mandé (8), Sarcelles (8), Neuilly-sur-Seine and Boulogne-Billancourt (5 each), followed by Vincennes, Le Raincy and around fifteen towns with one or two places.
- Eating kosher in Levallois-Perret, with Neuilly and Boulogne next door.
- Eating kosher in Charenton, Saint-Mandé and Vincennes, and further into Val-de-Marne.
- Eating kosher in Sarcelles, in Val-d’Oise.
What “kosher” means in Keila
A “kosher-listed” place has at least one kosher mention on its listing. Three evidence levels, never mixed:
- Documented certification (106 places, including 74 in Paris): an organisation names the establishment at that address in a public source. Currently all come from the official real-time Beth Din de Paris directory, checked by Keila on 2 October 2026. The source publishes neither teouda copies nor validity dates, and every piece of evidence is regularly rechecked: marked suspended, it no longer counts as a yes.
- Declaration: the restaurant itself writes that it is kosher on its website or menu. A dated public commitment, also rechecked, not certification.
- Spotted in directories: the address appears in at least one kosher directory. The listing says “to confirm” because it is not verified certification.
The type comes from the Beth Din directory where certification is documented, otherwise from kosher directories. Among the 106 certified places, the Beth Din de Paris directory classifies 86 as bassari (meat) and 20 as halavi (dairy). For places seen only in directories, the displayed type is what the directory states, itself needing confirmation and often missing. Pareve, neither meat nor dairy, appears only once as a venue type, alongside meat. The organisation can also be filtered: one backed by documented certification is shown as such; one named by directories appears as “stated supervision”, to confirm. Finally, scope says whether evidence covers the whole establishment or only options; all currently documented certifications cover the entire venue. Above all: unknown information is never a positive answer. Details are on the method page, vocabulary in Bassari, Halavi, Pareve: understanding kosher restaurants, and checks in Beth Din de Paris certified restaurant: how to check.
A catalogue under construction
290 places do not cover all of Paris and its suburbs, and we do not claim otherwise. Restaurants and entire arrondissements are missing. Opening hours, however, have arrived in the app: indicative, with their source and date recorded. If your favourite is missing, suggest it in the app (“Suggest a place”) or write to thomas@keila.app. If a listing is wrong, “Report an error” appears on each one. All listings are also in the restaurant index. For something other than kosher, see our vegan and vegetarian places.
