What Keila refuses to do.
- Relax your requirements.
- Filter by a supervision body? We won’t slip “close enough” into the results. The app says it clearly: “Your requirements remain yours. Keila never relaxes them automatically.”
- Mix up ratings.
- A Google Maps rating stays a Google Maps rating, with its source and date. Keila reviews are counted separately. Nobody quietly averages them together.
- Invent certification.
- A restaurant saying it is kosher is making a declaration. Certification marked as suspended does not count. Information we don’t have is “unknown”. Never “yes”.

The questions

What about the app’s language?
At launch, the app will follow your phone’s language among the supported languages. The website is already available in French, English and Hebrew.
Is it free?
Yes. Searching, filtering, reading listings and saving favourites are all free. No subscription or targeted advertising. An account is optional: use one to write a review or find your favourites on another phone.
What about Android?
Not yet. Keila is launching on iPhone first, coming soon to the App Store. We do not have an Android release date, and we would rather not make one up.
Does it work outside Paris?
Paris and Île-de-France for now: 275 addresses to our knowledge, across kosher, vegan and vegetarian categories, including 79 beyond the ring road (Levallois-Perret, Charenton-le-Pont et Saint-Mandé…). The beta starts here, for residents and visitors alike. The catalogue will gradually expand to more cities and countries.
Who checks whether a place is kosher?
Not Keila. Certification comes from a body such as the Beth Din de Paris or the Rabbinat Loubavitch de France. Keila shows who says so, on what basis and on what date. A restaurant’s own declaration is labelled as a declaration, not certification.
Can I suggest a place?
Yes, with Suggest a place in Explorer. If information is wrong, use Report an error on the listing. The team checks every report: nothing is published automatically.
And reviews?
With an account, you can leave a score out of five and a comment. Each review is checked before publication and shows your first name. Until a place has five Keila reviews, we display the Google Maps rating with its source and date. The two are never mixed.
