Eating kosher in the 11th: Voltaire and nearby

A kosher guide to the 11th, from boulevard Voltaire to rue de Montreuil: Beth Din de Paris certifications, one declaration and what still needs confirmation.

The kosher 11th is something of a secret that eastern Parisians keep to themselves. As of 5 October 2026, to our knowledge, 9 restaurants in the 11th have documented kosher evidence (8 certifications, 1 declaration), and 2 other addresses are mentioned in kosher directories, awaiting confirmation. One street does most of the work: boulevard Voltaire. The updated list is on kosher restaurants in the 11th with evidence. The district’s picture has changed since late September: back then we wrote “zero documented certifications”. Now there are eight.

This guide is a catalogue snapshot from 5 October, including directories. The 11th’s page keeps only listings with evidence and changes with every check: that is the reference.

From zero to eight documented certifications

In late September, we explained that “zero” did not mean no restaurant in the 11th was certified, only that Keila had not yet found a public source from a body naming the establishment at its street number. That source is the official live Beth Din de Paris directory. On 2 October 2026, Keila found eight addresses in the 11th there, at their exact address, with coverage for the whole establishment.

The limits remain the same: the source publishes neither a teouda copy, an individual reference nor validity dates. Each piece of evidence is checked regularly: evidence marked suspended no longer counts as a yes in the app. The latest check date remains visible on the listing.

Meat: 6 addresses

On boulevard Voltaire: Bozen Voltaire (Asian fusion, at 201), Shinzzo Voltaire (Chinese and Japanese, at 225) and Le Manhattan (grill and Israeli, at 231). For Tunisian and Middle Eastern food: Lucien - Maison Tunisienne, rue des Boulets, and Chez Francois, avenue de Bouvines. And Chicken Delice, rue Léon Frot, for fast food.

Dairy: 2 addresses

The 11th is one of the few districts where dairy does not start with pizza. La Kave du Fromager, at 221 boulevard Voltaire, lists French and Israeli cuisine. Chez Giulia, at 256 on the same boulevard, has no cuisine entered on its listing yet: its menu is there.

La MiN: a restaurant declaration

La MiN, at 45 rue de Montreuil, listed as French bistronomy, declares itself kosher on its website, for the whole establishment. Keila recorded this declaration on 7 September 2026, and it will be checked again, like all declarations. Kosher directories indicate meat, with Rav Pevzner as the stated supervisor. A declaration is the restaurant making a public commitment. It is not certification, and the listing does not present it as such.

Identified in directories

Bloomy Brunch, rue de Charonne, serving French cuisine, is indicated as dairy by directories, with Rabbinat Loubavitch de France as the stated supervisor, awaiting confirmation. Then there is Mendy’s Pizza, at 220 boulevard Voltaire, identified in a kosher directory without a category. Yes, the name strongly suggests dairy. No, we do not infer a category from a name: unknown information is never a positive answer. Filter Halavi and Mendy’s will not appear. If you want to go, a call can settle the question in ten seconds.

Boulevard Voltaire and the surrounding streets

Six of the eleven addresses are on boulevard Voltaire, including five with documented certification: Bozen Voltaire at 201, Mendy’s Pizza at 220, La Kave du Fromager at 221, Shinzzo Voltaire at 225, Le Manhattan at 231 and Chez Giulia at 256. In other words, between 201 and 256 you have meat and dairy choices along the same stretch. The others are in nearby streets in the district’s east: rue de Montreuil, rue de Charonne, rue Léon Frot, rue des Boulets and avenue de Bouvines.

How to read this list

Documented certification: Keila found the establishment named at this address by a supervision body in a dated public source, and the listing displays that source and its check date. Declaration: the restaurant itself says it is kosher, on its website or menu; useful information, but not certification. Identified in directories: the address appears in one or more kosher directories, and the record says “to confirm”, because these indications are not verified certification. If your requirements are strict, open the listing, check its source and date, and call before travelling.

Its immediate neighbours have few documented kosher addresses: five in the 12th, four in the Marais. The 19th, a little north, has eleven. Further east, Saint-Mandé, Charenton and Vincennes have their own addresses. The full overview is in where to eat kosher in Paris by district, while our vegan and vegetarian selection also visits La Roquette and Bastille. All listings are in the restaurant index, and everything can be filtered in the Keila app, coming soon to the App Store.

Frequently asked questions

Is it up to date?
The figures in this article reflect the catalogue published on 5 October 2026. Certifications were checked on 2 October in the Beth Din de Paris directory and are checked regularly; evidence marked suspended no longer counts as a yes. An address may have changed since: the listing and a phone call take precedence over this article.
Why is a particular restaurant in the 11th missing?
Because the catalogue is being built: 290 addresses in Paris and Île-de-France as of 5 October 2026, to our knowledge, across all dietary categories, not every existing place. Some listings await a check, some places have escaped us, and others are not currently published. Suggest it through the app (“Suggest a place”) or email thomas@keila.app.
Who checks?
The Keila team records sources, dates them and displays their nature. Keila certifies nothing: certification comes from a supervision body, and Keila simply says whether it found it, where and when. Details are on the methodology page.
Opening hours, Shabbat and Sunday?
In the app, almost all listings in the 11th now have indicative weekly hours, with their source and recording date. Indicative is the key word: on Friday afternoon or before a holiday, call. We discuss this further in our article on Shabbat and restaurants. On Sunday, almost everything is open: see the list in kosher restaurants open on Sunday in Paris.

Do you run a kosher restaurant in the 11th and have a document from your supervision body? That is exactly what listings marked “to confirm” lack: send it to us.
