We’re herefor you.
A few pointers to make the most of Keila, simply.
Find a dish
Search in Explore also finds menu dishes: their names, descriptions and sections. Your area and requirements still apply. A dish on a menu does not by itself prove its ingredients or the restaurant’s dietary status.
A meal together
From the Together tab, organise a meal: the neighbourhood, the day if you know it, the number of people and the maximum budget per person. Then send the link to your group conversation; you need an account to send it. Everyone opens it in the app or on keila.app, with or without an account, and says what they eat, adding a first name if they wish. Keila keeps the addresses that suit everyone. When the organiser opens voting, people with accounts are notified; others return through the same link. To vote, tap the places that work for you and the star for your favourite. The organiser chooses a place with “Let’s go with this” and everyone is notified. Keila does not make reservations. A meal stops accepting responses after seven days. It and its responses are deleted 30 days after its date, or 30 days after it closes if no date was set.
A profile that feels like you
From your profile, create a shared profile with a name, an optional photo and a short introduction. People follow you using your link or code, under Find someone in the Feed tab. Your followers and the people you follow are on your profile; you can remove a follower without blocking or notifying them. “Visible from your reviews” lets people open your profile by tapping your name below a review. For an address, Want to try and Been there are separate lists from your saved places. These lists are private by default; you choose which appear on your profile.
Write and find your reviews
On a listing, Give my review lets you leave a score out of 5 and an optional comment. An account is required. The first name you confirm is public with the review; your email stays private. Your reviews are in your profile under My reviews. A review is published on submission unless it contains an insult, in which case the team reviews it. You can edit or delete it.
Respectful conversations
Share your personal experience without advertising, insults, discrimination, threats or private information about someone else. A review must not invent a visit or claim to certify a dietary characteristic. Review options let you report a problem or, with an account, hide its author’s reviews. You can restore a hidden person from Settings and help in your profile. The team may reject content, remove it or suspend an account’s contributions. To contact the team: thomas@keila.app.
Places that match your choices
On first launch, a short optional introduction asks for your first name, dietary requirements, preferences and usual neighbourhood. You can change everything later in your profile under My preferences. Dietary requirements specifies accepted organisations, certificate scope and cooking requirements: a place that does not meet them will not appear. Cuisines and budget, like your outings, only influence the order of places without hiding any. Also accepting vegan or vegetarian places remains your choice and never amounts to kosher certification.
Menus and photographs
View menu displays dishes inside Keila when data is available. PDF menus, images and the restaurant’s website remain available as additional sources. The consultation date does not guarantee the date of the prices. Available photographs carry a credit; a chain’s dish photograph is distinguished from a photograph of the venue. A listing without a photograph can still be viewed.
An old photograph remains an archive
The caption shows the known date of the photograph. An archive helps you discover a place without guaranteeing its current appearance. View the restaurant’s photos opens its official gallery when a verified link is available.
Explore without an account
Choose a neighbourhood, a dietary preference or search for a name. The list and map use the same criteria. Moving the map changes the results only when you choose to search in that area.
Location stays your choice
If you allow it, Keila opens with places around you. Your location stays on your iPhone: it is neither sent nor recorded. You can always choose Paris or a neighbourhood instead, and withdraw permission in your iPhone settings.
Your saved places, your way
Tap the heart to save a place. Find it in your Notebook alongside Want to try and Been there, even offline. A place no longer on Keila remains in your Notebook, marked accordingly. Your private notes stay on this phone, separated by account, and are never shared. Without a backup, uninstalling the app or changing phones may lose your Notebook. With an account, you can back up places, your first name and preferences; dietary requirements need separate consent. Backup status appears in your profile under Account and backup.
An account stays optional
Explore and save places without an account. To sign in, open your profile: use Apple on iPhone or your email with a one-time code, without a Keila password. Once signed in, choose whether to enable backup and, if you wish, add places saved without an account on this phone. Signing in does not send your dietary requirements.
Has some information changed?
Open the listing and choose Report an error. To share a new discovery, choose Suggest a place in Explore. These submissions reach our team and are never published automatically.
A map that will not load
The map needs a connection. You can continue with the list and your Notebook. If places do not load, tap Retry or pull the list down.
