Eating kosher in the 19th, from Manin to Secrétan

Rue Manin, avenue Secrétan, rue d’Hautpoul: a street-by-street kosher guide to the 19th. What the Beth Din de Paris directory names, and what still needs confirmation.

The catalogue’s second-largest kosher district, and by far its most compact. As of 5 October 2026, to our knowledge, 11 restaurants in the 19th have documented kosher certification, and 20 other addresses are mentioned in kosher directories, awaiting confirmation. Many fit onto just a few streets. The updated list of 11 is on kosher restaurants in the 19th with evidence. If you live nearby, you already know half this list by heart. The other half will save you asking the building’s WhatsApp group again.

This guide is a catalogue snapshot from 5 October, including directories. The 19th’s page keeps only listings with evidence and changes with every check: that is the reference.

11 certifications documented through the Beth Din de Paris

In late September, the 19th had just one documented certification, for Chlew Manin, and even that was awaiting review. Since then, Keila has cross-checked the catalogue against the official live Beth Din de Paris directory. The result on 2 October 2026: eleven addresses in the 19th appear at their exact address, with coverage for the whole establishment and a holder matching the business name.

The source publishes neither a teouda copy, an individual reference nor validity dates, and the listing states this. Evidence is checked regularly, and evidence marked suspended no longer counts as a yes in the app. Check the verification date on the listing before relying on it.

Asian food dominates, and that is the list rather than a neighbourhood cliché: Shinzzo Manin, Setai on rue d’Hautpoul, Cosy Fresh on rue Curial, Saïko on rue Armand Carrel and Bozen Paris 19 on rue Petit. For the rest, deli food at Chlew Manin, burgers and sandwiches at Sma Ma Mash 19e, and grills and Middle Eastern food at Dav and Jo, Maison Guichi on quai de Seine.

Other addresses identified in directories

These addresses appear in one or more kosher directories, without documented certification on their Keila records to date. Many cite Rabbinat Loubavitch de France, Rav Rottenberg or Rav Katz: the record displays this as “indicated supervision”, awaiting confirmation. Not “less kosher”. Simply not documented yet.

Mixed or unspecified category

Aux Delices De Maxime, rue de Crimée, is indicated as meat and neutral (pareve) by directories: it is the only catalogue address where the word neutral appears. For Yoko by Shinzzo, Sareden 19e Bio, Segoula, Yvo Gusto and Munchy, no category is given. In Keila, unknown never means yes: these records do not appear when filtering Bassari or Halavi.

The map of the 19th in five streets

Rue Manin has seven addresses across all evidence levels, from Chlew Manin at 18 to Tib’s at 161, with Shinzzo Manin at 68 and Yoko by Shinzzo at 68 bis. Avenue Secrétan has five (one record writes “rue Secrétan”; we have noted it). Next come rue d’Hautpoul (four), rue Petit (three), rue de Crimée and rue Curial (two each). In other words, between the Buttes-Chaumont and the canal, the question is not “where” but “meat or dairy tonight?”.

How to read this list

Documented certification: Keila found the establishment named at this address by a supervision body in a dated public source, and the listing displays that source and its check date. Declaration: the restaurant itself says it is kosher, on its website or menu; useful information, but not certification. Identified in directories: the address appears in one or more kosher directories, and the record says “to confirm”, because these indications are not verified certification. If your requirements are strict, open the listing, check its source and date, and call before travelling.

To compare another dense neighbourhood, see kosher addresses in the 11th, or those in the 17th, the only district with more. The overview is in where to eat kosher in Paris, district by district, all listings are in the restaurant index, and filters for category, supervision body and neighbourhood are in the Keila app, coming soon to the App Store.

Frequently asked questions

Is it up to date?
The figures in this article reflect the catalogue published on 5 October 2026. Certifications were checked on 2 October in the Beth Din de Paris directory and are checked regularly; evidence marked suspended no longer counts as a yes. An address may have changed since: the listing and a phone call take precedence over this article.
Why is a particular restaurant in the 19th missing?
Because the catalogue is being built: 290 addresses in Paris and Île-de-France as of 5 October 2026, to our knowledge, across all dietary categories, not every existing place. Some listings await a check, some places have escaped us, and others are not currently published. Suggest it through the app (“Suggest a place”) or email thomas@keila.app.
Who checks?
The Keila team records sources, dates them and displays their nature. Keila certifies nothing: certification comes from a supervision body, and Keila simply says whether it found it, where and when. Details are on the methodology page.
Opening hours, Shabbat and Sunday?
In the app, almost all listings in the 19th now have indicative weekly hours, with their source and recording date. Indicative is the key word: on Friday afternoon or before a holiday, call. We discuss this further in our article on Shabbat and restaurants. On Sunday, almost everything is open: see the list in kosher restaurants open on Sunday in Paris.

Do you run a restaurant in the 19th and want your listing to show real evidence instead of “to confirm”? Visit the restaurant owners’ page.
