Your
restaurant
is kosher. The internet
doesn’t
know it.

On Google, you are stuck between a “kosher-style” pizzeria and a caterer that closed two years ago. Booking sites still do not know what pareve means.

Keila shows your certification, its source and date to people looking for kosher food in Paris and Île-de-France. Vegan and vegetarian too, under the same rules.

275 addresses in Paris and Île-de-France already on Keila, across all dietary categories, to our knowledge · The app is coming soon to the App Store

A Keila listing in French: kosher certification, the body, source and check date, separate from the restaurant’s own declarations.

Seen from
the till.

Six moments you know by heart. Printed out, for once.

  1. TillParis

    Sunday, 12:15

A family searches for “kosher restaurant” on Google Maps. They find a “kosher-style” pizzeria, a caterer that closed two years ago, and you in sixth place. Booking sites still do not know what pareve means.

    With Keila

In Keila, people filter by kosher, then meat, dairy or pareve, supervision body, cuisine or budget. People looking for you find you, not a mixed list.

  2. TillParis

    Tuesday, 20:40

An engineer on a work trip, staying in the 9th district, knows nobody in Paris. He asks a WhatsApp group for “somewhere kosher near Cadet”. Fourteen replies, three places. Not yours: nobody in the group has eaten there this month.

    With Keila

A Keila listing does not depend on who knows whom. It appears by neighbourhood, on the map or nearby, even on someone’s first evening in Paris.

  3. TillParis

The day before Yom Kippur, 11:00

Google says “Open until 23:00”. You close at 15:00, as you do every year. The phone rings all afternoon. The next day, a review accuses you of “closing without warning”.

    With Keila

Every piece of information on Keila has a source and a date. Errors can be reported from the listing and are checked before publication.

  4. TillParis

    With every new customer

“Which Beth Din supervises you? Since when? The whole menu or just some dishes?” You answer ten times a week because it is not clearly written anywhere.

    With Keila

Keila displays the body, source, date of the last check and scope: the whole venue or selected options. Separately from the restaurant’s own declarations.

  5. TillParis

    Saturday evening, after Shabbat

A one-star Google review: “Not kosher, be careful.” You are, with a certificate displayed inside. Replying without looking as though you are defending yourself in public? Good luck.

    With Keila

On Keila, a review never determines dietary status: that comes from a documented source. Keila reviews are checked before publication, and a review making a false factual claim can be reported.

  6. TillParis

    Thursday, two weeks before Passover

People search at the last moment: before Shabbat, at Passover, during Sukkot. Exactly when you need visibility, and exactly when you have no time.

    With Keila

Today, your listing appears in the filters all year round. Planned for Premium: a targeted notification before Shabbat or holidays.

The customer’s perspective: why a kosher restaurant can be hard to find online.

The listing answers before anyone calls you.

“Which Beth Din supervises you? Since when? The whole menu?” It is all on the listing, along with the source. Already in the app today.

Certification, separately
The body, source and date. Displayed separately from the restaurant’s own declarations.
The scope
The whole venue or selected options. Written clearly.
The menu
Your menu readable in the app: dishes, set menus and variations. Or a direct link to yours, not a photo a customer took in 2022.
Credited photos
Every image identifies its source.
“Why this place?”
A few editorial lines, signed by the person who wrote them.
Keila reviews
Checked before publication. Until there are five reviews, an external rating is displayed with its source, review count and date. The two are never mixed.

A real catalogue record, as kept by Keila. The stamp describes what it is: a documented source. Certification itself comes from the Beth Din.
  • A declaration is not certification.

If you tell us “we are kosher” or “everything is vegan”, the listing labels it as your declaration. Certification requires identified evidence: the body’s directory or a submitted document. They never share the same label.

  • Everything has a date.

Every piece of information states when it was checked and is checked again regularly. Evidence marked suspended no longer makes the address appear in the relevant filter.

  • Unknown does not mean yes.

If information is missing, the listing says “not provided”, never “yes”. Someone using a strict filter will not see your place until it is established. That is intentional and makes the filter reliable for customers.

  • Keila does not certify anything.

Certification comes from the body: Beth Din, Loubavitch or another. Keila checks sources and displays their type. Paying for a plan changes nothing about the dietary status shown on your listing.

addresses to our knowledge, across kosher, vegan and vegetarian categories, in 17 Paris districts and elsewhere in Île-de-France. Nobody paid to be included.

Is your name on the list? Click it: if there is a public listing, you can see what your customers see. Kosher listings are also organised by neighbourhood.

Your listing may already exist, with what we could verify without you. Write to us: we will tell you what it shows, and you can tell us what is missing or wrong. The email opens with fields for your name, address and supervision body.

Link to your listing.

Free for every listed place, with or without a paid plan. A link from your website’s contact or “find us” page takes customers to your listing: the address, type of certification or declaration, source and date.

The badge shows where to find your listing. It certifies nothing: certification remains the responsibility of your supervision body.

The badge: Find us on Keila

A text link (the simplest option)

<a href="https://keila.app/en/restaurants/VOTRE-FICHE">Our kosher listing on Keila</a>

Or the badge

<a href="https://keila.app/en/restaurants/VOTRE-FICHE"><img src="https://keila.app/badge-keila-en.svg" alt="Our kosher listing on Keila" width="160" height="48"></a>

Replace VOTRE-FICHE with your listing’s address: email us and we will send it. Vegan or vegetarian restaurant? Keep the same link and use “Our listing on Keila” as the text.

Request my listing’s address

You will
probably ask.

Do I have to pay to be on Keila?

No. Places already listed paid nothing to be there. Plans help complete and promote your listing. They change neither certification nor ratings.

How long does it take to check my listing?

It mainly depends on the source. Certification in a body’s public directory can be cross-checked quickly. A submitted document, or contradictory information, requires a conversation with you. We reply by email in every case.

Who checks?

The Keila team, using identified sources: the supervision body’s directory, documents you submit and your official website. Keila certifies nothing: certification comes from the body, and the listing identifies each source type.

Can I reject a review?

Not because it is negative. Keila reviews are checked before publication under moderation rules. A review making a false factual claim, such as about dietary status, can be reported. A review never changes the certification information on your listing.

What if I lose my certificate?

Certification marked suspended no longer produces a positive result: your address leaves the relevant filter without being deleted. Tell us when it is restored, and we update the listing with the new source and date.

What about Android?

Keila launches on iPhone first, coming soon to the App Store. No Android version has been announced for now.

My restaurant is not in Paris.

Keila currently covers Paris and part of Île-de-France: 79 addresses are already beyond the ring road, notably in Levallois-Perret, Charenton-le-Pont et Saint-Mandé. Strasbourg, Lyon and Marseille are the next planned cities, with no announced dates. Write to us anyway: we will keep your address for your city’s opening.

My restaurant is vegan or vegetarian, not kosher.

Keila also covers vegan and vegetarian places, under the same rules: declarations and certification displayed separately, each with its source and date.

A question, a renewed certificate or a listing to correct? Write to us.
