Thursday evening, someone suggests sushi and everyone agrees. Then someone asks “Kosher, right?” and another says “Bozen is kosher.” Which one? Seven have a listing and three do not. That is the point of this article: Paris has plenty of kosher sushi, but evidence is checked by address, not by logo. Location lists are on kosher restaurants with evidence, place by place.
Here is how we counted, so you know what the figure means. For 16 addresses, the menu recorded in the app shows at least four entries for sushi, maki, California rolls, sashimi, chirashi, temaki or nigiri. For 5 others, the listing’s cuisine says Japanese or sushi, without a detailed menu. The final 5 are Bozen branches and one Shinzzo, Asian brands whose recorded menus do not yet detail their sushi. We inflate nothing: each listing explains where its information comes from.
The brands: Bozen, Shinzzo, Nina Sushi
Bozen has seven addresses with documented certification, each named at its street number by the Beth Din de Paris directory, all classified as meat restaurants: Bozen Villiers (17th), Bozen Iéna and Bozen Trocadéro (16th), Bozen Paris 19 (rue Petit), Bozen Voltaire (11th), Bozen Levallois and Bozen Boulogne. Their recorded menus are mostly delivery selections: we will not give a dish count, which would be misleading.

Shinzzo has four, all meat restaurants: Shinzzo Copernic (16th), Shinzzo Voltaire (11th), Shinzzo Manin (19th) and Shinzzo Saint-Mandé. Nina Sushi has two: Nina Sushi Villiers, at 86 avenue de Villiers, whose recorded menu has 23 sushi and maki entries, and Nina Sushi Longchamp, on rue de Longchamp in the 16th.

Now the addresses of those same brands that do not yet have documented certification on their Keila record, and therefore no public listing: Bozen Charenton, Bozen Vincennes, Bozen Le Raincy, Nina Sushi Neuilly and Yoko by Shinzzo, at 68 bis rue Manin, right beside Shinzzo Manin. This says nothing against them. It means Keila has not matched those addresses to a directory entry. If you go, look them up in the Beth Din directory: that is what it is for.
Independent restaurants in Paris
The 19th is the kosher sushi district, and that is more than an impression. Cosy Fresh, on rue Curial, has 78 sushi, maki and California roll entries on its recorded menu. Saïko, on rue Armand Carrel, has 68, and Setai, on rue d’Hautpoul, 56. With Bozen Paris 19 and Shinzzo Manin, that makes five addresses in one district. The neighbourhood list is on kosher restaurants in the 19th.
In the 17th, Aïko, on rue Torricelli, has the most Japanese-focused menu of the group: sashimi, chirashi, hand rolls, tataki, with 49 sushi entries in the broad sense. In the 12th, Wang’s, on rue de Charenton, mixes Chinese and Japanese food (38 entries), and KOÏS, on rue Louis Braille, does the same with a shorter menu. In the 6th, Resto Fleg, on rue de l’Éperon, lists Japanese food and sandwiches: its recorded menu is mainly a lunch set.

Around Paris
In Charenton-le-Pont, Nissaïa, on rue de la République, has the catalogue’s largest sushi menu: 114 entries, from sashimi to California rolls. Aux Délices de Charentong, on rue de Paris, serves Chinese and Japanese food. In Les Lilas, Ciné Sushi lists 94, with a clear fondness for California rolls. In Le Raincy, Le Chalet combines American food, Chinese food and sushi. In Boulogne, ASIATI-K, on route de la Reine, serves Chinese food and sushi.
Then there is Zapi Sushi, in Nogent-sur-Marne: the only address on the list classified as dairy by the Beth Din directory. Its recorded menu includes Japanese platters, pizzas, pasta and bagels. Sushi and a goat’s cheese and honey pizza at the same dinner are possible at this particular place.

Why the logo is not enough
Kosher certification applies to an establishment at an address, with a named holder. Two restaurants sharing a name may have different owners, kitchens and therefore supervision. That is why Keila never copies certification from one branch to another: a listing says “documented certification” only if the directory names that establishment at that street number.
To check an address yourself, see Beth Din de Paris: how to check a restaurant, which specifically explains the Bozen example. To read the certificate in the window, its scope and its date, see how to read a kosher certificate. Keila’s rules are on the methodology page.
Sushi and meat: what changes
Of the 26 addresses, 25 are classified as meat restaurants. Raw fish does not change that: these are meat restaurants where chicken and beef often share the menu with maki. The practical consequence for your guest: a dessert in a meat restaurant is pareve, without dairy. If they insist on finishing with cream, it is Zapi Sushi or another dinner. The meanings of bassari, halavi and pareve, and practices around fish, are in this article. We do not settle halakhic questions: your rabbi or the restaurant can do that better than us.
Questions people ask us
Can kosher sushi be delivered?
Several recorded menus are delivery menus, so yes, some addresses deliver. Which ones, how far and under what conditions are questions for the restaurant, and change faster than an article.
If a restaurant is not listed, is it not kosher?
No: it only means we have no documented evidence for it to date, or have missed it. The catalogue is being built. Suggest it through the app or email thomas@keila.app. Do you run the restaurant? Your certificate can appear on your listing with its source: restaurant owners’ page.
What about my neighbourhood?
Lists are organised by location: 16th, 17th, 11th, 12th, Charenton-le-Pont, Levallois-Perret, Saint-Mandé, Boulogne-Billancourt. Cuisine and dietary category filters are in the Keila app, coming soon to the App Store.
